Directive 10.1: Separating editorial from advertising
|
A clear separation of journalistic reporting in newspapers and electronic media from advertising is essential for the credibility of the media. Advertisements and spots must be recognisable as such. If this is not obvious, they must be clearly marked as „advertisement“, „advertising report“, „advertising spot“ or through another form which makes it clear that they are not part of the editorial section. Journalists are not allowed to cheat by using methods which slyly bring advertising into their texts.
