Directive 6.1: Editorial secrecy
rofessional duty to keep editorial secrecy goes further than legal immunity as a witness. It protects the journalist's source material (notes, addresses, recordings, photographs etc). It also protects the journalist's informants when these people agree to give information only on the assurance that publication or broadcast will not entail disclosure of their identity.
